GOVERNOR SIGNS BUDGET WITH NO TAX INCREASES!

On Tuesday, July 6th, Governor Rendell signed the first on-time budget in eight years. And thanks to the efforts adult tobacco consumers across the state, the budget did NOT include ANY tobacco tax increases, including a NEW tax on smokeless tobacco and cigars.

Thanks to those of you who have continued to voice your opposition, over the past several years, to taxes that target adult tobacco consumers. Your willingness to participate and communicate with your elected official played a large role in this year’s legislative success and demonstrates that individual involvement CAN make a difference! As a result the Pennsylvania tobacco excise tax rates remain unchanged.

We will continue to keep you informed of tobacco related issues that may affect you and hope that you continue to be involved and take action.
