Reduced Cigarette Ignition Propensity (RCIP) describes cigarettes that demonstrate reduced ignition propensity in certain laboratory tests. RCIP cigarettes are not “fire-safe.” Anything that burns, if handled carelessly or improperly, can cause a fire. This type of product should be handled and disposed of properly, just like regular cigarettes.
